IAA Global Summit 2022: Nations as Brands.

The IAA Global Summit 2022, held on September 5–6 in New Delhi, introduced the theme “Nations as Brands,” exploring how countries can leverage branding strategies to enhance global perception and influence.
The summit commenced with a keynote by Hon. Tony Abbott, former Prime Minister of Australia, marking the first time IAA India hosted a foreign dignitary for an inaugural address. He highlighted India’s democratic strength and potential for global leadership. Amitabh Kant, former CEO of NITI Aayog, presented the Brand Finance Nation Brands 2022 report, ranking India 5th globally with a brand value of $2.59 trillion. Kiran Karnik and Manish Sabharwal discussed India’s competitiveness in IT and employment sectors. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari emphasized the nation’s infrastructure development.
Day two featured global perspectives, including Peter Knapp of Landor & Fitch on brand differentiation, and Ambassador Ido Aharoni of Brand Israel on Israel’s transformation into a “Start-Up Nation.” Suraj Saharan of Delhivery and Pradeep Pant of Rawstone Co. Ltd. discussed technology’s role in commerce. Cricket legends David Gower, Dilip Vengsarkar, and Ayaz Memon, moderated by Rajdeep Sardesai, explored cricket’s evolution as a national brand. Dr. D.K. Hari and Dr. D.K. Hema Hari, along with Ramesh Vangal, delved into India’s cultural contributions to the world. The summit concluded with Bharatbala’s tribute to Lata Mangeshkar, encapsulating India’s rich heritage.
