Mumbai, 2nd September 2023 – The India Chapter of the International Advertising Association (IAA) hosted the 8th IndIAA Awards on 1st September at Taj Lands End, Mumbai. ABP Network and Sony Pictures Network were co-partners, with Network18 and JIO Cinema as associate partners.
This year, 15 creative agencies won top honours across 18 product/service categories and one special category. From over 1,000 ads, 102 campaigns were shortlisted by a jury of seasoned journalists—with only one winner per category unless a tie was deemed necessary.
Among agencies, Leo Burnett, MullenLowe Lintas Group, and Ogilvy each secured three awards, while BBDO, DDB Mudra, and TBWA won two each. Other winners included Grey Group, Kehat Kabira Pictures, McCann Worldgroup, Publicis Worldwide, Rediffusion, SG Media, Talented, The Script Room, The Womb, and Tilt Brand Solutions.
HUL secured wins in Food & Beverage and Personal Care, while HDFC Life and HDFC Mutual Fund triumphed in Insurance and Banking & Finance respectively.
Jury Chairman Suresh Narayanan, Chairman & MD of Nestlé India, recited a poem titled “Jury Chair ka Sambodhan”, reflecting on his five-year journey in the role, receiving enthusiastic applause.
IAA President Avinash Pandey praised the IndIAA Awards for setting a gold standard in recognising authentic, impactful advertising. He highlighted the association’s role in pushing social change, breaking gender biases, and leading global events like AdAsia, with a 2023 delegation led by Sam Balsara headed to Seoul.
IAA IndIAA Awards Chairman Abhishek Karnani emphasised that campaigns can’t be entered—they are shortlisted independently, ensuring only genuine, scam-free work is presented. “The awards are judged by senior marketers who own and invest in brands, making them truly unique,” he noted.
Ayushmann Khurrana was honoured as the “Most Disruptive Brand in the Entertainment Industry.” On brand choices, he said, “Credibility is everything. My father once told me—Goddess Saraswati comes before Goddess Lakshmi. If you earn respect, you earn everything.”
Speaking about his Bollywood journey, he added, “As an outsider, I don’t get second chances. It’s about making bold, clutter-breaking choices. Everyone is talented—it’s about preparation and meeting opportunities.”
