On the subject “Spirituality and Consumerism: Can they co-exist?”, an engaging conversation that took place between Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, Founder, Isha Foundation and Piyush Pandey, Chairman, Ogilvy Advertising, on 6th January 2014 at Mumbai.
Posing that any kind of 'ism' would lead to 'a certain mindlessness', Vasudev reminded the advertising industry that mindless consumerism was not conducive to human well being. He said, "The advertising industry should focus on creating conscious consumers rather than mindless consumers."
Nearly 200 delegates attended the event which also saw the launch of the book written by Sadhguru “Three truths of well being”. Former Actor and Rajya Sabha MP Smt Hema Malini released the book.
